MARK
CROSS

Music. Technology. Ideas.
I make things — and turn ideas into things that work.
This is my story ↓
01 · Where it began

It started
with technology.

Long before websites and apps, there was SCITEC — administration, computer programming and microelectronics. Computers were changing the world, and I wanted to understand what made them work.

The technology changed.
The curiosity didn't.

02 · Professional audio

Then came
the mixing desk.

After working in employment and training, my route changed again. At Acoustic Technology I entered the world of professional audio — working in what my boss simply called a sound engineer role.

Electronics, equipment, venues and music suddenly came together.

03 · Mark A Cross

Music never
really left.

Today I write and produce professionally as Mark A Cross, with original music and creative projects developed through BlueMonkeyBeats.

Different artists. Different styles. The same fascination with creating something that wasn't there yesterday.

04 · An unexpected direction

Heavy
industry.

I didn't exactly plan on blast furnaces. But heavy industry became a major part of my working life — operations, training, safety and the practical reality of making complicated systems work safely.

It gave me a completely different kind of education: real problems, real people and solutions that have to work outside a computer screen.

05 · Experience becomes an idea

SWP
Works.

Years around industrial safety documentation kept exposing the same problem: important information can become complicated, slow and difficult to use.

SWP Works grew from that experience — using digital technology to make practical safety documentation simpler and clearer.

06 · Back where I started

Still building
things.

Websites. Applications. Digital products. Music. Business ideas. Experiments that work — and a few that don't.

In many ways I've ended up back where I began: exploring technology and wondering what else it could do.

Understand it.
Question it.
Build it.
